In patch 8.2, we’ll finally be able to fly — and that includes the new zones we’ll be going to. We just need to complete the second half of Battle for Azeroth Pathfinder. It’s not nearly as intensive as the first part of the achievement, but it will still take a bit to complete.

The devs said they’re using Legion’s Pathfinder as a model for Battle for Azeroth, so we can expect the requirements and progress to be similar. Community interviews revealed reputation requirements and the devs estimate that it should take players 2-3 weeks after the patch releases to earn the reputation needed to be able to fly.

• Battle for Azeroth Pathfinder, Part One is the very first step in completing/unlocking flying in Battle for Azeroth zones. Currently Rewarding Increased Mounted Speed in Kul'Tiras and Zandalar. • Unlocking Flying in Battle for Azeroth: Part 1 - WoW. The skies of Kul Tiras and Zandalar can be decidedly unfriendly to the uninitiated. To help you on the first part of your journey, we’ve put together a brief guide.

Here is what you need for part two of Pathfinder:

• Reputations: earn revered status with the Rustbolt Resistance in Mechagon and the Ankoan (Alliance) or Unshackled (Horde) in Nazjatar.
• Exploration: we’ll likely have to explore both zones, based on the Explore Broken Shore requirement from Legion’sBroken Isles Pathfinder, Part Two
• Complete Battle for Azeroth Pathfinder, Part One (duh)

If you’re not yet caught up on the first part of Battle for Azeroth Pathfinder, you still have a couple months before patch 8.2 is likely to come out. To check your personal progress, Wowhead has a nifty Flying Tracker.

Here is what you’ll need for part one of Pathfinder:

• Battle for Azeroth Explorer: explore all six zones across Kul Tiras and Zandalar
• Wide World of Quests: complete 100 different World Quests in Kul Tiras and Zandalar
• Loremaster: complete the story questlines for Loremaster of Kul Tiras or Zandalar Forever!
• Ready for War: complete the War Campaign for Alliance or Horde
• Azerothian Diplomat: earn revered with Champions of Azeroth, Tortollan Seekers, and your faction’s reps
  • Alliance: Proudmoore Admiralty, Order of Embers, Storm’s Wake, 7th Legion
  • Horde: Zandalari Empire, Talanji’s Expedition, Voldunai, The Honorbound

The questing and exploring part of the achievement is the easy part. Even the War Campaign is easy because it consists of more questing. The real gating here is the reputation. Completing the Loremaster achievements and story lines will net you a good chunk of the initial reputation. After that, World Quests are your main source of steady reputation gains, along with reputation rewards from the mission table. You can apply a weekly contract for your choice of faction that will give you extra rep from all Battle for Azeroth World Quests. Emissaries award 1500 rep each, and Faction Assaults award 500 rep for 7th Legion/The Honorbound and 500 rep for the zone they’re located in. Island Expeditions have a small chance to drop quest items you can turn in for 250 rep. Most of them can also be purchased for 100 Seafarer’s Dubloon each (except for the faction insignias).

• Neutral: Soggy Page (Tortollan Seekers)
• Alliance: Dented Coin (Proudmoore Admiralty), Exotic Spices (Order of Embers), Lost Sea Scroll (Storm’s Wake)
• Horde: Island Flotsam (Zandalari Empire), Golden Beetle (Talanji’s Expedition), Shimmering Shell (Voldunai)
• Faction insignias (drops only): Rusted Alliance Insignia (7th Legion) or Rusted Horde Insignia (The Honorbound)

There are also a couple ways to boost your reputation gains. The Darkmoon Faire is up for the first week of every month (starting the first Sunday) and you can get a 10% rep increase by riding the carousel or roller coaster for the WHEE! buff, or by using a consumable Darkmoon Top Hat. The buffs last for an hour, but the Top Hat and Whee buffs don’t stack. Every 7 weeks, the World Quest Bonus Event is up, which grants a passive Sign of the Emissary buff that increases World Quest reputation gains by 50%.

When you complete all this, you can fly! Flying will be enabled in all outdoor zones in Battle for Azeroth, including Nazjatar and Mechagon. And to top it off, we also get a new mount for completing the pathfinder achievements: Wonderwing 2.0.
